VINEYARD

We get high on vines.
During visits to John’s family we discovered the wonderful grape-growing areas surrounding Paso Robles and learned about diverse micro climates in which certain varieties of grapes excel there. Our experiences of making Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa inspired us to search for a site on which to plant our own Cabernet vineyard. In 1999 we found the perfect piece of land with all the attributes we desired (soils, sun and wind exposure, hill) and we named it “Mia’s Vineyard” after our daughter. It was located in the eastern end of the Templeton Gap at the corner of Highway 41 East and Cripple Creek Road and on the border of the “El Pomar” AVA and in the “Creston” AVA. Planted in 2000 our eight acre Mia’s Vineyard included 4 acres of Syrah and 4 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon. Our farming methods combined with our winemaking techniques produced distinctive wines that reflect the soils and climate of this site. We continually reach for the highest level of quality.
In 2022 we began replanting portions of our vineyard to more Cabernet Sauvignon, however after much deliberation, our family decided to sell our vineyard in the fall of 2024, with a contingency to purchase the grapes from “Mia’s Vineyard”. A win-win for the brand and our family!
